Butler Hospital — Financial Assistance & Charity Care

Providence, Providence County, RI

Under Rhode Island law, Butler Hospital must offer free or discounted care to eligible low-income and uninsured patients. Here's what the law guarantees — and how to apply.

What Rhode Island law guarantees

Under Rhode Island's hospital charity care regulation (216-RICR-40-10-23), Butler Hospital must provide FREE care to uninsured patients at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, and discounted care for patients up to 300%.

This is the legal minimum — Butler Hospital may offer more generous help. The only way to know is to apply, and applying is always free.
