In Tennessee, a hospital, surgery center, or diagnostic center cannot make an uninsured patient pay more than 175% of what the care actually cost the facility. If you are uninsured, ask for your bill to be recalculated on that basis (Tenn. Code Ann. § 68-11-262). See the official source ↗
